The Horses

Horses ‘know’ our emotions – but do we?

How well do we listen to a ‘gut’ feeling, or a heartfelt moment?

Horses tune into emotions very easily, their own and also ours.  Just their presence can draw our attention toward our own internal world of sensing and feeling. But how well do we listen to this part of us?  Horses and EAL can help with understanding and connecting effectively with how we feel. Friendships, work colleagues, family, personal well-being, all benefit when we bring honesty and we have authenticity.

Understanding Congruency

All equines are naturally congruent, their outward behaviour fits with what they feel on the inside, they are only ever authentic. Horses are very skilled at noticing when a human’s internal world is not matching the external image, they respond if they sense a mismatch or an incongruency. And it is through their responses we get clues about who we are, glimpses of ourself we perhaps didn’t know were there. These glimpses can highlight and guide positive behaviour change and be the impetus that drives personal growth.

Horses ‘speak’ with heartfelt resonance and co-sentience. Sometimes when words alone do not feel enough, being shown by a horse gives a different sense of helping and their emotional intelligence can bring us deep and lasting learnings.
