Equine Assisted Learning

Welcome to Equus Auri

Equus Auri sits on the southern fringe of West Sussex, with organic farmland surrounds and picturesque views up to the South Downs. Lara Mackendrick, founder of Equus Auri, works intuitively and sensitively alongside her horses to provide equine assisted personal growth and professional development.

Equine Assisted Learning

There is a special bond that can develop between horse and human and Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) acknowledges and engages with this unique relational connection. At Equus Auri our EAL sessions help people expand and better understand emotional intelligence, progress personal boundaries and build self-confidence.

If life is feeling disconnected, day-to-day events feeling challenging or perhaps a bigger lifestyle change is feeling daunting – then EAL could be for you. We offer wellbeing guidance and help with realisation of sustainable and positive living practices.

What does the horse bring?

Horses guide with immense heart and without words.  They bring a sense of calm and an energy that is grounded in the present. EAL is an alternative to talking-based helping programs, and it is through the experience of sensing the emotions of the horse that we are gifted insight into our own behaviour patterns.
