Equine Assisted Learning

We invite you to meet equine emotional intelligence

Welcome to Equus Auri

Situated in West Sussex, we provide horse facilitated sessions for personal development growth and learning, an experiential and holistic learning approach that supports deepening human emotional intelligence.

Equine Assisted Learning

To feel safe, horses are always noticing and sensing everything around them.

Horses sense us when we are near and in return we become aware of their natural and excellent emotional attunement.

They can help us engage holistically, remind us to not solely run with our heads but take note of emotional information in the body too.

Our Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) sessions guide noticing different emotions, what they might mean and explores how to integrate this information back into everyday life.

EAL

  • Has the potential to advance social and emotional skills in personal environments and in the professional workplace.
  • Is a way to develop self-confidence and explore what healthy physical and emotional boundaries look like.
  • Gives a greater understanding of one’s own feelings and can help with reading emotions in others.

The Horses

Do you take time in your day, to be still, to be present?

Horses only live in the moment; they demonstrate being in the ‘now’ and can be guides in the experience of mindfulness. Incorporating mindfulness practice into our daily lives has been known to hold positive therapeutic benefits, for not only emotional health but physical health too.

Equine feedback is pure, always authentic and non-judgemental.  A relational connection with a horse is partnered with honesty; it can support being true to one’s own feelings and help elevate our sense of well-being.
